Christian Skateboard Skaters

For years now Skateboarding has had a bad repetition. I couldn't stand it because I was a good kid and loved to skateboard. It's true I eventually got involved with things I should not have, and fit the grungy description of a drugy and alcoholic skater. Thank God though Jesus Christ came and rescued me out of that life style. The X-Games has actually done a lot of good for the sport of skateboarding, showing people you can be clean cut and be a skateboarder. I keep on finding out about more pros that have been saved and are using there skateboarding as a platform to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

I decided to write this hub after i just found out that one of my heroes was saved. I met him once at skate Utopia in Raleigh North Carolina at a Tony Hawk Demo. His name is Brian Sumner. He sprained his ankle that day and had a bag of ice on it. I felt bad for the guy, because I knew he was itching to skate. On the other hand though it gave me the opportunity to spend a little time with him.

I'm not sure if Josh remembers this day or not, but I will for the rest of my life. The dude totally rips on a skateboard and I used to watch all of his new footy when it came out. I was living in NC at the time and heard there was going to be a christian skate demo in Washington DC.  My friend Jonathan and I decided to take a road trip.  We were crazy, because one of the nights we ended up sleeping in the car. Anyhow the day of the demo we were excited, kinda hoping they would let us skate the ramps.  We rolled up to the location and to our shock we saw Josh Kasper.  We got to talk to him for a little bit and he filled us in the what was going on in his life.  He explained to us how he was taking time off of the spot light to grow in his relationship with Jesus Christ. He had an amazing testimony, and it so blessed my heart to know i was going to see him in heaven someday. He actually ended up praying with the both of us, and i remember in his prayer he said for some reason we were meant to meet and prayer together and that someday we would understand Gods master plan. There was some incredible skating that went down and real good solid gospel message.
